Coach Taylor is going into her second year as a NCAP West coach. Before that, she did a masters program for 2 summers. Taylor has been an NVSL summer swim coach for 9 years, the last 2 as assistant head coach.

Taylor was a swimmer for NCAP for 15 years and for the NVSL summer team, MVP Gators. She went to All Star relays 10 years in a row starting as a backstroker and eventually switching to breaststroke. Taylor made all stars 4 times in the 50 breaststroke. She also swam at Woodbridge High School, going to regionals in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke all 4 years.

Coach Taylor cannot wait to work with your kids on technique and speed. As well as, helping them work hard and build up their teammates!

Katie Baxa - Head Coach, Lead Bronze 1

With 25+ years in the swimming world, Coach Katie has experienced her beloved sport at many levels and across the globe. With a coaching philosophy rooted in mentorship and teaching swimmers to build accountability, Katie believes that success in the pool starts with strong relationships between swimmers, coaches, parents, and teammates.

Katie was born and raised in Richmond, VA. She was first introduced to the sport, as a lot of kids are, through summer league swimming. Her connection to the sport grew from there. As a swimmer she competed at the club, high school, and college club team levels. Coaching was not the career path she set out to pursue while studying psychology and public health at the University of Delaware. But combining her love of the water and passion for mentoring young people has given her the opportunity to fulfil her ‘why’ in life.

For the past 6 years Katie has been the Competition Pathway Lead Coach at Hamilton Aquatics in Dubai, UAE. Across those 6 years she coached swimmers from all over the world. In addition to coaching and supporting through the Dubai Competition Season, she also prepared them to compete at home country nationals and international competitions. She has coached multiple swimmers through World Cups, World Championships, and now hopefully, the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Throughout her swimming and coaching career, Katie has experienced and witnessed all the highs and lows, achievements and challenges this sport can bring to a person’s life. This has given her the ability to empathize with and support swimmers at all levels of their swimming journey. This journey starts in the learner pool and ultimately can end on the international podium. But that international podium looks different for everyone. Katie has dedicated her life to helping swimmers achieve their own international podium while preparing them for their lives ahead.
