He graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2011 with a degree in English. During his college career, he was awarded the Capital Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year for three consecutive years and he was Rookie of the Year his freshman year. He went undefeated in all his individual conference races, went to the NCAA Division III Championships all four years of college and is a six-time All-American athlete.

After graduating college, he coached at Saint Vincent College in western PA for two years, leading that team to two winning seasons. Stephen returned to coaching and swimming PVS in 2013 and competed in eight different National-level meets, including Summer and Winter Nationals and the Arena Pro Swim Series. In 2015, he won the high point award at the Eastern Sectional Meet. He is an ASCA Level 2 coach and was recently accepted in the ASCA mentorship program. Stephen has been coaching club swimming for 18 years, and coached summer league (CSL and ODSL) for 12 years.

Coach Stephen is passionate about swimming; his goal as a coach is always to share that passion and to help his athletes find their own love of the sport. He loves coaching and has a lifelong commitment to be the  best coach he can be.  Stephen lives in Haymarket, VA with his wife, Nikkoahk, and their four children, Arrayah, Cai, Eden and Garrett.

Fisher Stroud - Silver 2 , Bronze 1

Coach Fisher has been an active member of the swimming community for the past 20 years. He was a multi-sport athlete all four years at Brooke Point High School in Stafford, including soccer and swimming, and reached the VHSL 5A state meet as the butterfly leg of his school's 200 medley relay. After high school, Coach Fisher transitioned to teaching lessons at his local YMCA before moving to Life Time Swim as a coach and instructor.

Fisher first began working with NCAP in January 2019 as an assistant coach with Stephen at Dulles South before rejoining Life Time as the head site coach of their Ashburn/Sterling location in July 2020. Ashley DeWolf - Developmental Director

Coach Ashley joined the NCAP coaching staff in June of 2024. Coach Ashley started swimming at 8 right here in northern Virginia. She was an all-conference swimmer at Seton School for 2 years and competed at the VISAA State Championships all 4 years of her high school career. She began coaching at the age of 15 when she became a junior coach for the Wellington Dolphins in the PWCSL where she realized her true passion for coaching. Ashley continued as an assistant coach there throughout high school. After graduating, she went to Clemson University where she continued her swimming career on the college club swim team. At the age of 19, she became the head coach of the Wellington Dolphins’ developmental team where she trained new swimmers in basic technique to earn a spot on the competitive team. During the Covid year, Ashley returned to her high school as an assistant coach for the team she once competed for. Later she transferred to the University of Kentucky and continued coaching out in Lexington until her return to northern Virginia in 2023. Ashley joined the swim team coaching staff at Flint Hill School in Oakton, VA where she helped the school bring the MAC championship title back to the huskies. Throughout Ashley’s almost 10 years of coaching, she has devoted herself to honing her craft and providing the love of swimming to hundreds of swimmers across all of her teams. She is thrilled to continue that career and dream with NCAP and all of their athletes!
