Stephen Clendenin - Head Coach, Silver 1 Lead, Bronze 3 Lead
Coach Stephen Clendenin joined NCAP in the fall of 2017. A lifelong swimmer, Stephen began competing at age nine and has been part of the Northern Virginia swimming community since 2001. He graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2011 with a degree in English, earning numerous accolades during his collegiate career. He was named Capital Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year three times and Rookie of the Year as a freshman. Stephen remained undefeated in all individual conference events, qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships all four years, and became a six-time All-American. After college, Stephen spent two years coaching at Saint Vincent College in western Pennsylvania, helping lead the team to two successful seasons.
He returned to the Potomac Valley Swimming (PVS) community in 2013, where he continued to compete at a high level—attending eight national meets, including Summer and Winter Nationals and the Arena Pro Swim Series. In 2015, he won the high point award at the Eastern Sectional Meet. Stephen is an ASCA Level 2 coach with over twenty years of club coaching experience and twelve years in summer league coaching (CSL and ODSL). He served as Head Coach for the PVS Long Course Zones Team in both 2022 and 2024. He is deeply passionate about swimming and committed to fostering that same love for the sport in his athletes. A strong advocate for technique-first training, Stephen ensures every swimmer receives top-tier technical coaching. Outside of the pool, Coach Stephen is a dedicated husband to his wife, Nikkoahk, and a proud father of four.
Fisher Stroud - Bronze 1 Lead, Bronze 2 Lead, Silver 3 Lead
Coach Fisher has been an active member of the swimming community for over twenty years. After competing through high school, he began teaching swim lessons at his local YMCA, eventually joining Life Time Swim as both a coach and instructor. In January 2019, Fisher began working with NCAP as an assistant coach at the Dulles South location. He later returned to Life Time in July 2020 to serve as the head site coach for their Ashburn/Sterling program. Coach Fisher rejoined NCAP in 2023 and has since played a key role in developing the program into what it is today. He also coached the Willowsford Waves during the summers of 2024 and 2025. Coach Fisher is excited to continue working with the outstanding athletes and community at NCAP!
Mason Glembocki - Developmental Director
Coach Mason is a dedicated swim coach with a lifelong love of the water. Her journey began in the early-morning swim practices she eagerly attended as a young athlete – experiences that instilled in her a deep appreciation for discipline, technique and personal growth. For the past four summers, Mason has returned to Hidden Creek Country Club to lead its summer swim team, where she found her true passion in mentoring young competitive swimmers. Her coaching style focuses not only on refining strokes and improving race times, but also on building confidence, character and a strong team spirit. Swimming has provided her the tools to be a successful student, athlete and adult. Whether it’s perfecting technique or inspiring confidence, she brings the same energy and commitment to her swimmers that she once dedicated to her own training. Now with NCAP, Mason has made a strong impact—helping more athletes than ever advance through the competitive levels. She’s excited to continue fostering growth in and out of the pool this season.
