Competitive Team
Our competitive team swims year-round. A try-out is required before registering.
Our Stroke School is devoted to competitive stroke instruction with an emphasis on balance in the water through specialized drills. The program is for swimmer under 14 looking for a supplement for summer league.
Our Swim School has been serving the DC area for over 30 years. We have a wide variety of learn-to-swim classes for ages 3 - 8 years old at Marymount University.

Coaching Staff
Chris Natoli - Gold 1
Coach Chris started coaching at NCAP in 2004. After spending 18 years at the Burke site, Coach Chris brings experience coaching all ages but he spent his last 14 years at Burke primarily with the National and National Prep groups. In 2021 Coach Chris came to Marymount to take over as the Site Head Coach and work with all of our Gold Groups. This upcoming season Chris will continue to be the lead Coach for Gold 1 and support our site on every level.
In addition to Coaching for NCAP, Coach Chris has been coaching collegiately as Assistant at George Mason University from 2004-2020 and then as Head Coach at Marymount University from 2020 until present. Chris lives in Arlington with his wife Stacy and their three children, Jackson (12), Finnley (9) and Braden (6).
Jake Ball - Marymount Head Age Group Coach, Gold 2 at Tysons, Silver 1
Jake has been with NCAP Marymount since the fall of 2021 where he specializes with athletes ages 11-14. He has 10 years of coaching experience from learn-to-swim through high school and college level swimming. Jake has coached athletes who have achieved Age Group, Sectional, and Futures time standards as well as coached himself to the 2021 US Trials. Outside of being the lead coach for Silver 1 and Gold 2, Jake is also an assistant coach for Gold 1 and Marymount’s varsity swim program as well as a coach for a NVSL Division 1 summer league team.
Originally from Stafford, VA, Jake was a graduate student at George Mason University where he earned a Certificate in Geographic Information Systems while helping the men’s swim team earn their first conference title. Prior to Mason, Jake attended Denison University where he earned a degree in Environmental Studies and Geosciences as well as two national titles and four All-American honors. When not on deck, Jake likes to spend his time working out, playing Ultimate Frisbee, and playing video games.
John Flanagan - Gold 1 Assistant
Coach John has been coaching for more than 50 years at the USS Age Group, Senior, and Masters level. He began coaching in Potomac Valley in 1971 where he has coached Open Water swimmers, College Level swimmers, and Junior/Senior National swimmers. Coach John has been named to several National and Junior National teams and was named the YMCA Coach of the Year in 1990 along with the Swim Swam Coach of the Year (Age Group) in 2013 and NCSA Coach of the Year in 2015. Coach John has been chosen for the Swimming World Championship staff (1986, 1994, 1998), USA Pac Pacific Games staff (1995), NCSA staff - Ireland (2010), NSCA staff - Japan (2012), World Youth staff (2013), and World University Games staff (2015). He has coached over 100 National, Jr. National, NCSA, and National YWCA first place finishes since 1983. Coach John will be coaching the Gold PM group.
David Dixon - Lead Gold 3, Silver 2, Bronze 1
Coach David is joining the Marymount Site this season as the Lead Coach for Silver 2 and Bronze 1. David began swimming when he was 6 on a summer league team in Gordonsville, VA. He loved it so much that he went straight into year-round club swimming that fall. David swam for BASS in Fluvanna County until he was 11, and then moved to NOVA in Richmond, VA. During the summers in high school, he was an assistant coach for his local summer league team, the Tuckahoe Village West Tiger Sharks.
After graduating high school, David attended West Virginia University where he competed for their swim team from the Fall of 2017 until graduating in Spring of 2022. While there, he studied through WVU's College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, getting degrees in both Athletic Coaching Education and Sport and Exercise Psychology. Upon graduation, David was given the amazing opportunity to join the collegiate program as an Assistant Coach for the WVU program for the '22-'23 season, which allowed him to give back to a program that had provided so much to him throughout his college years. In addition to swimming and coaching for the WVU team, David also coached for the local Club Mountaineer team since 2020, where he focused primarily on high school-level athletes.
Emily Warren - Lead Bronze 2, Bronze 1 Assistant
Emily has been with NCAP Marymount since Spring of 2023 where she is involved in coaching both the Bronze 1 and Bronze 2 program.
While coaching at NCAP Marymount full time, Emily is also the Graduate Assistant Coach for the Marymount University Men’s and Women’s Swim Team for her second year and currently working towards completing her MBA. In the 2022-2023 season, Emily helped coach both the Men’s and Women’s team to their first ever Atlantic East Conference Championship Title. In the summer, she also is the head coach for NVSLs Division 5 Virginia Run Riptide.
Before coaching at NCAP, Emily has had coaching experience at Centreville Swim Club, Machine Performance Center and Chantilly National Golf & Country Club Bluefins. She also attended the University of Mary Washington studying Studio Art where she was a part of the Women’s Swim Team for 4 years. She was a team captain and helped lead the Women’s team to their 29th, 30th and 31st consecutive conference championship titles.
Outside of coaching, Emily enjoys photography & video production, rock climbing, traveling and being outdoors.
